Danno Wolkoff

Danno Wolkoff is owner, founder, president and chief executive officer of Envision Radio Networks. Danno entered Syracuse University in 1982 with dreams of studying communication and eventually becoming a director and producer of TV commercials. While studying at the renowned Newhouse School of Communication, he wrote, directed and produced student television shows and was the original morning radio host for the Z-89 Crazy Morning Crew when WJPZ-FM signed on in 1984.

Upon his graduation in 1986, Mr. Wolkoff set off for New York City armed with no job offers, only his determination, creativity and talent. He landed at the start-up company MJI Broadcasting that specialized in syndicated radio programs and, as a leader of the affiliate relations and sales force, quickly expanded their business and growth.

Six years later, Mr. Wolkoff developed a business concept for MJI that would enable him to return to Cleveland and raise his growing family there. His concept of satellite sales offices expanded the company nationwide and led to his position as National Sales Director. After MJI was sold to Clear Channel in 2000, Mr. Wolkoff was named Vice President of Affiliate Relations for Premiere Radio Networks and three years later, struck out on his own to launch Envision.

In 2006, Danno was inducted into the Beachwood High School Gallery of Success in recognition of his talent, enthusiasm, vision and entrepreneurial spirit in developing the largest independently owned radio affiliate relations company in the United States.

Mr. Wolkoff also served as Chairman of the Board from 2000-2007 for the Conclave Learning Conference, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of broadcasting and related industries to better serve the public interest. In 2008 Danno was awarded the Conclave’s highest honor, the Rockwell Award. The Award was created in 1989 as a tribute to longtime Conclave Board member and Wisconsin radio owner/operator/morning man, Mike Rockwell. It is a tribute to those who have contributed to the industry through example and inspiration. It is presented to those who and have achieved personal goals while guiding others to their highest level of attainment.

Laura Orkin

Laura Orkin is owner, founder and chief operating officer of Envision Radio Networks. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Business Marketing degree in 1985. After graduation, Ms. Orkin, was recruited by Macy’s Department Store for their Executive Training program in New Jersey. Following her two years with Macy’s, she worked as the Business Manager for Allan Reider Studio in Union, New Jersey. In 1993, Ms. Orkin returned to Beachwood where she worked for Office Placements and reconnected to the city where she was raised.

Ms. Orkin then decided the time had come to venture out on her own and give back to the community that had given so much to her. She felt she could add value to the Beachwood community by creating a forum for business communications. In 1994, she decided to form a weekly communiqué called Beachwood Business Fax. The Fax was a staple in the Beachwood business community for over 10 years. In 2003, Ms. Orkin sold Beachwood Business Fax and became COO of Envision Radio Networks.

In addition to her current role at Envision, Ms. Orkin is a 15-year member and the past President of the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce. In 2005, she was recognized by the City of Beachwood and honored as the first woman president for the Chamber. She finds time to volunteer at the Beachwood Middle School and High School and has served as a Destination Imagination coach on three separate occasions. Each time, her teams won regional competitions to go on to the State of Ohio Tournament. Ms. Orkin also served on the Beachwood Recreation Board from 1997-1999, where she was also President in 1999
